We at the Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation (SCHDC) are excited to share that our project, Vincent’s Village, has been recognized with a LEED Gold Award in the category of Outstanding Affordable Projects by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
This award underscores our commitment to creating sustainable, healthy, and resilient communities through our residential developments. Vincent’s Village, a $42 million affordable and supportive housing development, serves the housing needs for seniors in Rockland County.
It offers 93 affordable homes with on-site health and wellness services for adults aged 55 and older, reflecting our mission to provide high-quality, sustainable living spaces that cater to the needs of the community.
Winning this prestigious award highlights the dedicated efforts we, along with our partner Rockabill Development, have put into ensuring that Vincent’s Village is not only affordable but also sustainable and environmentally friendly. The development embodies the principles of sustainable design and construction, resulting in a high-quality living environment that reduces its impact on the environment while enhancing the quality of life for its residents. We thank the USGBC for this honor and remain committed to our mission of developing sustainable, affordable housing that enhances the well-being of its residents and the surrounding community.
